Prop firm platform restrictions

Where a platform is not available to you, usually because of where you live. MetaTrader is the common case: a firm can accept you and still be unable to offer MT4 or MT5. Every rule below is quoted from the firm’s own pages, with a link to where we read it.

Do not log in from the US, even on a VPN

VPS and VPN use is generally allowed, with one exception: traders travelling to the United States should not log in to MetaTrader or cTrader from there, and should not set a VPN location to the US. It is a platform licensing restriction, not a trading rule, and it is easy to trip by accident.

Forcing orders after the 4:10 PM close can disqualify you

Resubmitting an order several times after 4:10 PM EST can let it through. That trade can disqualify the account.

  3. MetaTrader 5 is unavailable to US traders

The firm accepts US traders, but MetaQuotes software is not available to them through IF Pro Ltd. You would trade on another platform, worth knowing before you buy if your strategy depends on MT5 tooling.

Lot size is capped per click, and leverage moves against size

Crypto is limited to 1 lot per click and everything else to 20. Since 16 March 2026 metals, indices and energies on Master accounts run temporary dynamic leverage that falls as you size up: 1:50 under 0.05 lots, down through 1:20 at 0.15, to 1:5 at half a lot and above.

MetaTrader 5 is unavailable to traders in the US and Canada

Their checkout states that MT5 is unavailable for clients from the USA and Canada. This is a platform restriction rather than a country ban, MatchTrader remains available, but if you were counting on MT5, the account you buy will not run it.
