Rule Check answers

What Rule Check reads when it calls this firm compatible or a conflict. Open one to read the rule in the firm’s own words.

Can you trade the news?Yes
“News trading is allowed across all models.”
Can you run an EA or a bot?Yes

EAs and bots are allowed on all models only if they behave like realistic manual trading. EA strategies built on scalping, latency arbitrage, grid trading or rapid-fire execution are banned (see hidden rules).

“Automated systems, Expert Advisors (EAs), or bots are permitted only if they operate with human-like logic, such as risk management or strategy automation that mirrors realistic manual decision-making.”
Can you copy trades?Restricted

The enforcement policy allows copying only between Pipstone Capital accounts owned by the same person. Copying between different people, group trading, signal-sharing schemes and account management are banned. An older FAQ (Nov 2025) also allowed copying from your own accounts at other prop firms or brokers.

“Copy trading is permitted only between Pipstone Capital accounts owned and operated by the same individual.”
Can you trade through a VPN?Yes

Banned when used to get around geographic or compliance restrictions, and doing so ends the service. None of the pages read bans VPNs outright. Pipstone monitors login activity and IP addresses.

“The use of VPNs or falsified residency to bypass geographic or compliance restrictions is strictly prohibited and will result in service termination.”
Can you hold positions overnight?Yes
“Overnight trade holding is permitted on all our models.”
Can you hold over the weekend?Yes
“Yes — weekend holding and news trading are allowed across all models.”
Minimum trading days3 days

1-Step Challenge. The 2-Step Challenge also requires 3 trading days in each phase. A separate rule requires 3 profitable days per phase, each closing at least 0.5% above the previous high.

“Minimum of 3 trading days, but no time limit—trade at your own pace.”
How often you can be paidBi-weekly

1-Step and 2-Step funded accounts: first payout 14 calendar days after the first trade, then every two weeks, or weekly with the paid 7-day add-on. Instant Funding: on demand once the required profitable days are met.

“Yes, profit withdrawals can be made after 14 calendar days from the first trade on 1-Step and 2-Step accounts, with subsequent payouts being bi-weekly, unless you select the optional 7-day payout add-on during checkout.”

6 hidden rules you should know before you buy

Terms that can cost you an account or a payout after you have already paid. Hidden means easy to miss, not concealed. The firm publishes every one of these, usually in its terms or FAQ rather than on its pricing page. Tap a rule to read it, with the page we read it on and the date.

Payout restrictions1

  1. 01Instant Funding profitable days reset after every payoutBlocks the payout

On Instant Funding accounts you must complete a set of profitable trading days before each payout request. The count goes back to zero after every payout.

    Why it matters
Break it and the payout is refused or pushed back.
    Who it affects
Anyone requesting a payout, on funded accounts

Drawdown1

  1. 02Floating loss limit on open tradesCloses the account

Open trades may not sit in floating loss beyond the account's floating risk limit, listed as 1.5% on 1-Step and 2-Step funded accounts and 1% on Instant Funding. The first offence cuts the payout and closes the account after it is paid.

    Why it matters
Break it once and the account is closed, whatever the balance.
    Who it affects
Every account on the programme, on funded accounts

    help.pipstonecapital.com

Position size and exposure2

  1. 03Uneven risk across your own accounts voids profitVoids profit

Trading the same idea on several accounts while putting much bigger risk on one of them counts as risk manipulation. Pipstone can void profits, reject payouts and close the related accounts.

    Why it matters
Break it and the profit from those trades is taken off before you are paid.
    Who it affects
Traders holding large or many positions, on challenge and funded accounts
    Source
    help.pipstonecapital.com
  2. 04Adding to a losing trade is cappedJudgement call

When a trade moves against you the terms allow at most four open entries in total. The same terms also say only one extra position at a worse price is allowed and its lot size cannot exceed the first trade.

    Why it matters
There is no fixed line. Someone at the firm decides whether you broke it.
    Who it affects
Traders holding large or many positions, on challenge and funded accounts

Prohibited strategies2

  1. 05Trades closed within 60 seconds count as HFTCloses the account

Any trade opened and closed in under a minute is treated as high frequency trading. A first offence cuts the payout and closes the account after payment while a third means payout denial and permanent closure.

    Why it matters
Break it once and the account is closed, whatever the balance.
    Who it affects
Hedging, martingale, arbitrage and HFT, on challenge and funded accounts
    Source
    help.pipstonecapital.com
  2. 06One-sided betting can be treated as gamblingJudgement call

Repeatedly trading only in one direction or piling exposure onto a single instrument can be classed as gambling. Pipstone decides this at its discretion and can cut or deny payouts or close the account.

    Why it matters
There is no fixed line. Someone at the firm decides whether you broke it.
    Who it affects
Hedging, martingale, arbitrage and HFT, on challenge and funded accounts
